1. To facilitate international travel and contribute to China’s open development, China has extended itsvisa-free policyto passport holders from 38 countries, includingFrance, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Malaysia, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Republic of Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan and Negara Brunei Darussalam. From November 30, 2024, to December 31, 2025, holders of ordinary passports from these countries can enter China without a visa for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, academic exchanges, and transit.

2.U.S. passport holderscan enter China on a transit visa (the visa is provided upon entry to China) for up to 10 days, provided they are traveling to another destination. This means they must enter China from one country and depart to another.
