Abstract：
This paper describes a 2m threshold gas cerenkov counter for identifing π,K,Pparticles with momenta of 5 to 10 GeV/c. Velocity resolution of 3.5×10 ^-5has beenachieved. Detection efficieney on plateau is more than 99.99%. The rejection factorfor particle with energy below threshold is about 1.6×10 ^-5.
