Abstract：
We used the shell model to investigate the β decays of the neutron-rich nucleus ¹⁸N. The reduced transition strengths B(GT) of Gamow-Teller β decays in ¹⁸N are calculated with the different interactions in the psd shell space; the results are compared and dicussed. A series of consistent results with the recent experimental data are found in this shell space, which seems to show that the observed properties of ¹⁸N and ¹⁸O are mainly produced in psd shell space. In addition, a B(GT) value is predicted around 9.5MeV in our calculation. These will be useful in the future experiment.
