LARGE AREA PARALLEL PLATE AVALANCHE COUNTER FOR TIME-OF-FLIGHT MEASUREMENT

Abstract：
The construction,operation principle and performance of a parallel plate avalanche counter with an active area of 60×400mm ²and another one with an active area of 70×140mm ²and one dimensional position sensitivity are described in detail.It is discussed how to combine a large solid angle time-of-flight setup by using the two counters described above.
