Measurements of Cross Section for160Gd(n,2n)159Gd and158Gd(n,p)158Eu Reactions at the Neutron Energies of 13.5,14.1 and 14.6MeV

Abstract:The cross sections for (n, 2n) and (n, p) reactions were measured on Gadolinium isotopes at the neutron energies of 13.5—14.6MeV using activation technique. The cross section data for the reactions of160Gd(n, 2n)159Gd and158Gd(n, p)158Eu were reported.The cross sections of160Gd(n, 2n)159Gd reaction are (1940±83)mb, (2324±92)mb and (1983±77)mb at (13.5±0.2)MeV, (14.1±0.1)MeV and (14.6±0.2)MeV, respectively. The cross sections of158Gd(n, p)158Eu reaction are (1.9±0.1)mb, (2.1±0.1)mb and (3.5±0.1)mb at (13.5±0.2)MeV, (14.1±0.1)Mev and (14.6±0.2)MeV, respectively. The neutron fluences were determined by the cross sections of93Nb(n, 2n)92mNb reaction. The comparison was made between the present results and the previously published data.
