Abstract:We have reanalyzed reaction cross sections of16N on a12C target. The nucleon density distribution of16N, especially surface density distribution, was extracted using the modified Glauber model. On the basis of dilute surface densities, the15N(n, γ)16N reaction is discussed within the framework of the direct capture reaction mechanism. The calculations agree quite well with the experimental data.
