The Gas Gain of a Proportional Tube

Abstract：
In this paper the gas gain of a proportional tube is discussed. On the basis of analysing the existing calculation formulas, a new α/p- E/prelation and a corresponding formula of gas gain are proposed. The theory is compared with the experimental data of BF ₃and CH ₄proportional tubes.
