This workshop aims to foster the next generation of young scientists work ing in and around large scientific facilities\, in particular with neutron and X-ray sources\, as well as promoting international cooperation. The w orkshop will offer a comprehensive and hands-on walkthrough on using neutr on and X-ray instruments\, including lectures\, experiments at China Spall ation Neutron Source\, as well as data analysis. The official language of the workshop will be English\, and we encourage and accept applications in ternationally. Senior scientists will guide the attendees through the expe riments and data analysis\, including instrument scientists from various n eutron and synchrotron facilities\, as well as experienced users of large- scale science facilities.\n\nThe CESNXS workshop will have a limited plac ement of 30 attendees\, which will be selected by the organising committee based on the submitted application\, based on the following application m aterials:\n\n\n \n A short CV (no more than 2 pages\, in English)\, whic h should include professional information (job title\, research institutio n\, field of research\, academic career)*\;\n \n \n A motivation letter detailing the reasons to attend CESNXS (500 words or less\, in English)\;\ n \n \n An introduction/support letter from the supervisor or principle investigator.\n \n\n\n*Note that the information will be used for workshop candidate selection.\n\nThe workshop does NOT require any registration fe e\; registration will include lunch and tea break during the workshop\, also free of charge. Furthermore\, the Chinese Academy of Sciences will su pport 15 participants with their accommodation fees at CSNS guesthouse (at tendees could use different hotels at their own expense)\, as well as thei r airfare to and from China (the local organsing committee will purchase f light on behalf of the selected participant after discussion).
