Description

Abstract:

The primary goal of theXENONnTexperiment is to search for weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs), a leading theoretical candidate for dark matter. In its second science run,XENONnTaccumulated a total live time of ~186 days. During this run, the radon removal system was operated in high-flow mode, achieving a significant reduction of about 50% in the concentration of222Rn compared to the first science run. In this talk, I will present theXENONnT'slatest results from a blind analysis to search for WIMPs with a mass above 10 GeV/c2combining both first and second science runs for a total live time of ~283 days.

About the speaker:

ZihaoXu is a PhD candidate in the Department of Physics at Columbia University. He received his bachelor's degree from Nanjing University. His researchcenterson the direct detection of dark matter, with a particular focus on theXENONnTexperiment. His work involves data analysis, detailedmodelingof the detector response, and the development of statistical inference techniques for rare event searches.Zihaoalso served as the team leader of the nuclear recoil analysis working group within the XENON collaboration, which is responsible for all analyses targeting nuclear recoil signals — including those from weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) and coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS).
