In the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization fram ework\, inclusive production cross sections of quarkonia are expressed as products of perturbatively calculable short-distance coefficients (SDCs) a nd nonperturbative long-distance matrix elements (LDMEs)\, which are hypot hesized to be universal across production processes. For three decades\, t he validation of LDME universality has been central to understanding quark onium production mechanisms. However\, different groups extracted dramatic ally different sets of the three color-octet LDMEs of J/psi\, and none of them can describe all the data at LHC\, HERA\, LEP and Belle\, challenging the universality of LDMEs. In this talk\, we will report our recent progr ess on factorizing the LDMEs into products of wave functions and gluonic c orrelators based on the potential NRQCD (pNRQCD) effective theory and comp rehensive phenomenogical study on inclusive quarkonium prductions. We show that most of the data can be well described in the framwork of NRQCD fact orization and those still evade a consistent discription coincide with “extenstions” of endpoint regions. \n\nAbout the speaker:\nXiang-Pen g Wang got his PhD from Hamburg University in 2018. He conducted his first postdoc research in Argonne National Lab in collaboration with Geoffrey B odwin working on next-to-leading power factorization related to quarkoniu m exclusive production. He went back to Germany in September 2021 and star ted his second postdoc position in collaboration with Nora Brambilla worki ng on quarkonium production mechnism using pNRQCD effective theory and per trubative gradient flow to provide input for precise lattice computations.
